WSC led a team of consultants that revised the City’s Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). The UDO combined the City’s zoning regulations and Design Guidelines and created a consolidated procedures chapter. The UDO implements the City’s comprehensive plan, PlanOlathe, adopted in 2010, by establishing new standards and districts for mixed use centers, transit-oriented development (TOD), infill/redevelopment, and conservation subdivisions. The UDO created a unique set of composite building and site design standards that work together to promote compatibility with surrounding land uses.
