Military communities are facing new challenges. Missions and operations are changing and being realigned. Military planes are getting louder. And communities continue to grow and to seek out needed economic development opportunities.
We have helped communities around the country face these challenges by developing meaningful analysis, defensible policy alternatives, and implementation tools that are tailored to the local context.
Here are just a few of the planning, implementation, and legal consultation projects we've recently completed or are involved in now.
We recently worked with the Homestead Air Reserve Base to develop a Military Overlay Zoning District to implement the community's JLUS and AICUZ Studies. The Overlay was adopted by the City of Homestead in 2010. White & Smith worked in association with Marstel-Day, LLC on this project.
White & Smith's attorneys and planners have worked with Monroe County, Florida since 2001 and, in recent years, have advised the County on issues related to NAS Key West missions, community impacts, EIS review, and negotiated plan amendments.
